The proprietor Claire Gibson has had only three childhood ambitions and has realised them all. She always wanted to work in a shoe shop, which she did in London’s prestigious Knightsbridge, she wanted to be an air stewardess which she did for 18 years and then always wanted to run her own guest house, which she now of course does with great enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Claire  bought the house only four years ago and since has lovingly restored and upgraded it into the luxurious guest house it now is.
Over the past four years, Roxbro House has rightly acquired a deserved reputation for offering top class facilities and customer service within the local area. Not prepared to stand still and rest on her laurels Claire is yet again upgrading the rooms this summer, to offer even more comfort and luxury to her discerning guests.

Claire brought her many customer service skills, knowledge, eye for detail and vast experience of staying in some of the worlds most prestigious hotels to her venture in Warkworth.

From the moment you make a booking to your arrival and during your stay, Claire will oversee everything ensuring that the whole experience is one you will enjoy and will want to return to. Claire’s flexibility and professional but friendly and approachable manner are always in evidence. Equally she is perceptive enough to know that some guests simply wish to enjoy total privacy.

Claire's aim was to create a stylish, discreet and friendly guest house offering the very best in accomodation and service.What she has acheived is exactly that and now Roxbro house offers a warm and relaxed sanctuary set in one of the most beautifully charming coastal villages in the country.

Whilst Claire’s two grown up children periodically move back in to live with mum, the much loved three pets are always in residence. Harvey, a young friendly Labrador; Alfie, a sweet Jack Russell cross and Fred, a ginger and white young cat. The two dogs do not have access to the guest areas but normally the guests express a desire to meet them. Some have been known to walk them by the lovely riverside in the village. Fred is the latest addition to our household, and is a timid kitten who is still finding his feet!
